Corrections policy
Last reviewed: 10 August 2026. This page is for general information only and is not legal, tax or financial advice.
UK Finance & Accountancy Tools aims to be accurate, but mistakes can happen. This page explains how to report an error, how we assess a correction, and how we keep published figures up to date.
How to report an error
If you find an incorrect figure, a broken link or a calculation that doesn't match the published rules, contact us at [email protected] or use the contact page. Please include the page URL, the figure you believe is wrong, and — if possible — the official source that supports the correct figure.
How we assess a report
We verify each report against the relevant official source (GOV.UK, HMRC, MoneyHelper, the Bank of England or the FCA, as applicable). If a correction is confirmed, we fix it and update the page's last-reviewed date. If a report is based on a different tax year or a regional variation, we check whether the page already states that assumption.
When pages are updated
Pages are reviewed at the start of each UK tax year (6 April) and whenever an emergency Budget or Finance Act changes rules mid-year. Corrections to published figures are made as quickly as possible after they're confirmed. Each page shows its last-reviewed date.
Change logs
Significant corrections to published figures are noted on the relevant page. Substantive policy updates are reflected in the page's last-reviewed date and, where relevant, its related guide. If you have a question about a change, contact us and we'll point you to the source that explains it.
Still unsure about something? Contact us at [email protected] and we'll point you in the right direction.
